  • Seems we have moved on from discussing the article. Agreed that the Dems handled the Israel/Palestine issue very poorly, and that’s an understatement, though specifically Biden and Harris - They should have been proper leaders against the atrocities that occurred, and others that didn’t stand up to make an anti-Israel stance showed their true colors and shouldn’t be allowed back into office.

Back on topic though, the entire Dem party is not kissing Elon’s ass. There was one in the article that did, but that’s it.

If you wish to make some change, you’ll need to learn how to stay on topic and not let your anger take over so easily. Others in the world won’t engage with you otherwise, and you’ll end up only preaching to the choir. At least you’ll be on the right side of history, so long as the history books are written accurately.

  • I believe that people have the capability of committing wrong-doings, even atrocities, only to come around later and realize that they were in the wrong and can attempt to make up for it in life.

Do I believe that Elon Musk has redeemed himself? No. I do believe he has the capability to do so though, eventually. Do I believe that he should receive punishment for his wrongdoings? Yes. Same for Trump.

In regards to the statement about Dems siding with Nazis, don’t use labels to throw everyone under the same blanket and judge them all equally harshly. Everyone is an individual, and their actions should be judged as such. If there’s a Democrat that acted in such a way, by all means call them out and we’ll all hate on them together.

  • Idk, I’m fine with strangers engaging with others in public. We’re missing a genuine sense of community. I do feel that with more of this type of engagement, people won’t be so awkward when it goes in an unexpected route and maybe we’ll develop more kindness for one another.

I have been known to be too optimistic, though.

  • My sister was wearing a Harry Potter shirt and, in a grocery store, got confronted by some random girl that got super excited about it, and she showed my sister her tattoo of the Deathly Hallows. My sister had no idea what it was cause she never read the books and didn’t finish the movies, but she enjoys the shirt cause our mom loves the Harry Potter universe. The girl got all sorts of upset and threw some judgy looks at her. My sister doesn’t wear the shirt anymore.

Post just reminded me of that story, not trying to make a point or anything, just want to join in on the discussion.

Inb4 anti-JK Rowling commentary, you’d be preaching to the choir.

  • I used to live in a condo with some friends, and there were others in our friend group that would randomly show up throughout the day. The doors were always unlocked, so friends would just walk in. Sometimes it would be early in the morning and would hang out while I made myself breakfast. Sometimes it was late at night after they partied and needed a place to crash.

Seems similar to what you mentioned, I relate. Like you said, Friends was idealized, but not unrealistic.
