  • I don’t hate the work, I tend to find it pretty interesting. I do hate being overworked though and handling way more responsibility than I should, which is typically the case. But even then I’m lucky that I at least enjoy the work at face value, I don’t think people like accountants and many other roles do. Honestly it sounds mean but there are so many fields that just feel like people just got into because they don’t have any interests

  • I agree but also disagree. It totally can send the wrong message and have people hold out food for you, which I definitely don’t want. But if you can manage to avoid that, I do think it is less wasteful. It can be very circumstancial, but If I can eat your food that would go to the trash anyway, then I don’t have to find food for myself for that meal. I don’t have so much food in my fridge that if I eat something else instead then I would have to throw something of mine out. Also consider getting wrong orders, if I don’t eat it it is probably just going to get thrown out and I have to still get something for myself anyway

  • Well when I started using Lemmy I didn’t actually know what .ml was, I just heard it was the instance run by the Lemmy developers and thought, “ok so this is the main one then”, and joined it. They do make you paste some line from the manifesto or something to join so I did get a hint of what it’s MO is, but that didn’t really turn me off as I’m not necessarily opposed to Communism, at least in theory. I however did not expect the steadfast defense by many on there of the USSR, which operated pretty antithetically to its purported ideals
