Interestingly, since the data is read twice, some unlicensed developers exploited that. They would have logo data for something other than Nintendo in the location the logo data was normally stored. So you could boot the Gameboy and see some other logo besides the Nintendo one. But, when the logo data was read again for validation, they would quickly change the logo data to the Nintendo logo. That way, the Nintendo logo was never technically reproduced on screen, yet the Gameboy would still boot. Even more genius if you ask me! Very few unlicensed games were released for the Gameboy (at least here in the states). Here’s the best list I could find of unlicensed games.

As for me saying copyright infringement, I thought it would’ve be trademark infringement since it is a trademarked logo but the blog post said copyright and they seem to have done their research so I went with that. I figured maybe the code itself for the Game Boy hardware and rom was copyrighted.

The car dealers lobby group is a huge part of this. Note, I said car dealers, not car manufacturers.

They pay off the politicians and the politicians use the people’s money for these lawsuits. They are the reason why public transportation is horrendous in LA. The people suffer twice.

Here something I always thought was interesting about Nintendo and copyrights.

The Nintendo logo for the original Game Boy (the one that scrolls down) was a way to prevent unlicensed developers from releasing games on the Game Boy.

Games would not boot up if the Nintendo logo is not read on the cartridge and the ROM.

So for a developer to release a game on the Game Boy without Nintendo knowing, they would have to commit copyright infringement.

The Game Boy was released in 1989, over 36 years ago. They used this same tactic on the Switch. They claim the prod keys, which are needed for Switch emulators, are copyrighted.

Some kids in my neighborhood have e-bikes and some have regular bikes. The ones on regular bikes look like they are having more fun. They are talking to each other and laughing. The release of endorphins is severely underestimated with a lot of people.

This post made me miss skateboarding with my friends when I was younger. I am a little to old to fall off one now. I might not get back up. Lol.

That is fair. I don’t like noise pollution altogether. But one other thing I don’t like about motorcycles isn’t really about the motorcycles. I’ve seen car drives tailgate people on motorcycles. I’ve seen car drivers cut off people on motorcycles because they refuse to check their blind spots.

It’s really scary how bad drivers in my area are. I feel like if any driver is at fault in an accident, they have to go back and take a driving test.

Yeah, the bike lanes are really narrow in Manhattan, especially with streets going across.

I had a few bad experiences with cyclists in Manhattan. This isn’t about e-bikes. Some Lance Armstrong fans think the narrow streets is built for them. I’ve seen them yell at older people on vintage bikes that just want to cruise by. At another time, they wanted to over take me, which is fine but not during rush hour and there is basically no room to let them pass.

My sister lives in Irvine. It seemed like everyone had an e-bike. Their bike lanes can fit a car. It’s super nice. I wish I had a bike when I visited.

Thank you for the info. I’m going to do a little internet research on e-bikes. Last time I tried a couple of years ago, it was a little overwhelming (and some were a little too expensive for my taste). My town is adding more bike lanes so I can go out further. So having an e-bike might be useful.

When I lived in NYC, I had a Metro card and a CitiBike pass. They had e-bikes for higher tier accounts but like you, I didn’t really need it.

So I’ve seen people in my neighborhood in bike lanes and sidewalks going really fast.

After reading the other comments, I don’t really know to differentiate an e-bike in a bike lane or an e-motorcycle in a bike lane. I think the latter had people in my neighborhood complaining. It doesn’t really bother me since they don’t actively try to hit me but a lot of older people don’t like it. I just worry that some of them don’t wear helmets.

The kind you see ripping down sidewalks at 60km/h are often highly illegal in many places and, depending on local laws, might not even be classified as ebikes and may require a licence.

I see these on sidewalks and bike lanes. I see young teenagers on them going really fast without helmets. I always worry too much.

I’ve seen videos on YouTube of cyclists tell people on e-bike to get off the bike lane. This was years ago though. I never seen this happen in real life living in NYC or visiting LA. This is the main reason why I asked.

That is interesting. I always assumed biking is the most efficient and beneficial but especially for long distances I can see your point.
