  • Scrolled way too far for a lucid take like yours.

This seems to be a bit of an echochamber.

I wish people would just be a little more honest. When they say “writing code” they actually mean hunting through stack overflow for bits of code you can string together. Take stack overflow out of the loop for argument sake. Your a unicorn information superhighway ninja. Snowcrash hasn’t left your bedside for decades. Mountain Dew and volt cans litter the floor space of your home …and you’re still just orchestrating a bunch of libraries you never saw the source code of.

I think a lot of people built their identity on being coders and that’s why they hate where the industry is going.

  • Not sure how it works where you are but in my country companies had started this trend where they began laying off “overpriced” programmers programmers who’d been hired in the dotcom boom, had remained loyal employees for decades and (here’s the real point) were reaching retirement age. They ‘offer a package’ (early retirement) and then manage out anyone who didn’t take it. Comes to pass that these devs have such deep domain expertise alongside their technical abilities that the majority of them get hired back as consultants at what amounts to a name-your-rate deal. Learn from us. Take the package and go freelance.

  • I understand. I’m sure everyone has flown off the handle from time to time. I certainly have. I’m honestly just concerned. Your post felt like someone who is experiencing a great deal of stress probably from more than one source. You really should find a way to reflect and give yourself a little room to breathe. Give your mind some space to relax and expand. It’s abundantly clear that you mean well but when you become over invested in the massive amount of problems in the world out there it’s possible for one begin to neglect ones self. Take care ok?

Since we are sharing what we think other people should think about. You know what people really need to interrogate IMO?

    Friendly fire.

You have, in this post, concocted a cockamamie, pretty awkward framework with which to argue with other people about your progressive views on women’s bodies. Thing is you’re using people who most likely already agree with you regarding this topic as target practice.

You’re not progressing that cause here, very few (if any) people on lemony whatever are on the other side of this issue, you are self aggrandising based on how clever you think your point is. It denigrates the cause by making proponents of that cause look disorganised, confused and ornery.

We literally are at the stage where when someone says: “this is a psyop” then that is the psyop. When someone says: “these drag queens are groomers” they are the groomers. When someone says: “the establishment wants to keep you stupid and poor” they are the establishment who want to keep you stupid and poor.

  • They are not just jokes. People posting these things are doing so specifically to antagonise the right.

I’m telling you that your concern trolling is alienating allies.

I have chosen to engage in this just like you chose to deal with the blowback when you posted it.

All I have done to “fight for trans rights” is to speak out when I can, challenge bigotry as I am challenging you right now, stand up and be counted at queer marches/events and raise a daughter who took the only trans kid in her high school to prom.

You don’t know my life and that isn’t the discussion. Stop deflecting and learn to focus on intent.
