Man, my banking app recently switched to a different keyboard. One that doesn’t allow integrations like bitwarden. I also cannot copy paste my password into the password field so I have to enter my 32 character password by hand.
Mind you, this is not an app that does ANY banking in the first place it is just to authorize access to my bank account or for transactions.
So it is always a few minutes copying the password, making sure I haven’t miss-typed on the shitty keyboard or because of my sausage fingers and then being logged out of my bank account in the browser because it took so much time copying that password.
You can, apparently, call FileBot from the CLI
And then you have my company that now shut down our nextcloud instance because “it is insecure” and moved all files to OneDrive.
I can think of two problems:
First, not every Release Film is the same. You are talking specifically of FEP which is mostly used to describe the Release film and was commonly used for that but is the material that the Release film is made from. There are different types like the already mentioned FEP but also nFEP, PFA, ACF and probably others as well. Each of those materials has a different rigidity which would mean that they peel away from the Model sooner or later. According to this, FEP is much more flexible than PFA or ACF.
Second, the durability of the Release Film. Over time, the Release film will wear out and need to be replaced. They could become more flexible the more you use them. Cutting it too close could mean that your models will fail from one print to another.
Some other thoughts:
While I like the idea, I think it would signal a false sense of confidence in your printer because if you “dial in” your lift distance and the model then fails, people could start looking in the completely wrong direction to fix a problem. I mean, with that many variables to consider, people still download the validation matrix without adjusting their bottom and transition layers based on the description and then ask why their exposure test doesn’t work.
Oh, let me tell you about Playstation that I had the pleasure of having to deal with it.
I needed to log in to my Playstation account but it told me that my username or password was wrong. Okay, send me a reset link. I got the link and set my new password.
I use Bitwarden and my password generator is set to 32 characters by default.
I generate a new password, paste that into the new password field, click okay and everything is fine, password changed. I save that new password in my vault and go back to the login site. I use the just changed credentials: Wrong username or password.
Well, turns out that the Password reset field is limited to 30 characters but the problem is that NOWHERE is it stated that your password has a max length. Not to mention that they don’t tell you that your password was modified and cut short. The login password field, however, does allow more than 30 characters.
This means that you generate a 32-character password and paste that into the password reset field, this then gets cut short to 30 characters, click save and then use the same password on the login, which is 32 characters. This now obviously doesn’t work because those passwords aren’t the same.
Fun times. The worst part is that the first support person just went “Well, everything looks fine on our side. Sucks for you. Goodbye”.
Because VLC is a completely different Application in how it works than Plex.
Plex is, first and foremost, a Client-Server Application. Without a Server, you won’t be able to play something. VLC on the other hand is a complete standalone player which has to play (almost) everything that you throw at it. VLC also has network discovery so that you can actually play content from a network share.
That is another difference, for Plex, you don’t need a network share because the data is directly coming from your Plex server. VLC, on the other hand, will always need direct file access.
Plex itself also relies on the client device to provide the necessary compatibility to play the content you want to play. When something isn’t playable, Plex will have to make it playable by converting (transcoding) it. the higher the quality of the content, the more processing power you need.
For example, according to Plex itself, you need a CPU with 2000 PassMark Points to transcode a single 1080p video stream. A 4K HDR stream requires 17000 PassMark Points.
VLC cannot allow to not be able to play something on its own because if a player cannot play something, is it really a good player? However, with Plex, since it has the Server infrastructure in the back, it can allow itself to not bundle every possible compatibility in each client on every platform because if something isn’t playable, as said above, the server will make it playable.
So, Plex most likely had to transcode your file into a compatible format and your server is most likely not strong enough to do that in an adequate timeframe. VLC didn’t need to do that and only needed to work over the WLAN to create a buffer of the data.
They already tried that with Anno 1800, didn’t work out that well.
They look so disappointed and concerned.
Isn’t it hot?
Extremely
Makes me laugh every time.
The ability to hide posts that are the exact same but posted in Different places. It is very annoying to browse through 3,4,5 posts with the same text, same image and same poster just in different communities.
Nicht “Drachenball” aber ein andere “Übersetzung” die mich nicht los lässt.
Original Titel “You Were Never Really Here” von 2017, hierzulande ist er dann mit dem Titel “A Beautiful Day” erschienen. Nach der Filmbeschreibung, passt der Titel “A Beautiful Day” nicht so wirklich und wenn dann schon ein englischer Titel verwendet wird, wieso dann nicht den Originalen?
Even worse is that it is a trademark. There was a kickstarter for a game “prey for the gods” which could have gotten a trademark dispute over the usage of the name “prey” from bethesda.
So they changed the name to “praey for the gods” to not have to deal with yearlong legal battle and burn the Kickstarter funds.
Nvidia shield with a custom launcher. Google updated their Android TV home which made 60% and More of the dashboard just ads so I added projectify as my launcher. There are now only 2 apps being shown on my screen. Plex and Google Play (for updating apps).
You know, I was really sick and tired when they updated the nvidia shield with the new android TV version that makes most of the screen show stuff that are basically ads. It didn’t even let me show only stuff I was interested in and this constant “oh you are hovering over this item for 0.000001s so you seem to be interested in this, let me start the video for you with audio” no god damnit I was reading something else or got a text.
I had to install a different launcher so that I could only show on the screen what I actually wanted to see. I have basically removed or reduced all ads as much as I ca.
Lately, I was at my parents place and they don’t have that stuff. Even the 1.5 minutes of ads for a free service is so disruptive to me watching something.
What has this to do with PlayStation?
Well, on the shield you are still able to install a custom launcher that is more to your liking, you could disable the internet access and completely stream your own local content. But on the PS, you don’t have that option and are completely at the mercy of what they think you should watch and see on your screen that you bought with a console that you also bought with your own money.
How is asking a question “defending it”?
Interesting point but isn’t that more for practice? I mean more in the range of a very controlled and secure environment in which those phasers are not being able to hurt anybody. So the actual area doesn’t need to be highly shielded or protected because the phasers wouldn’t do any damage.
Thanks, yeah following the voron guide was straight forward but the LDO documentation was a bit getting used to. Some things were poorly explained while others were not mentioned at all (like the LED light assembly) but by far better than having to source everything on my own.
