My mom has been squatting in my apartment for a year and a half. I’m really looking forward to having my own space again. Neither of us chose this and it’s clearly affecting us mentally.
And yet, I wouldn’t go that far.

That’s a giant asterisk. My mom regularly oversalts her soup and I wish she didn’t. Some restaurants (especially fancy restaurants) salt their food so much it’s borderline inedible. There’s no good reason for them to do that. Arrogance perhaps.
Even my own tastes in salt vary greatly from day to day. So I wouldn’t even trust myself with getting the salt amount right for myself if I cooked for myself alone. As soon as any other human is implied, it just gets riskier.
I meant even I switched from Google to DuckDuckGo. DDG asks you about whether and how often you want AI answers
Just decline more. Then you can’t concern yourself with that stuff!

1·1 month agoOh my god. They’re serious.
I caved and switched when Google started giving me a full large chat window (not even just a small AI overview) by default when I ran a search.
Honestly I’ve tried salting a few times and for the little difference it makes… I don’t feel it’s worth the trouble.
But thanks for the info, I honestly hadn’t thought about the details.
I can just salt it in my plate. Feels wasteful to put a ton of salt in the water and dump 99% of the salt in the sink anyway.
Plus, sometimes, I just feel like keeping it unsalted entirely. Depends on the sauce etc. You taste the subtle sweetness of the noodles more that way.
Just use whole wheat pasta.
Stir literally once. No salt, no oil, no additional stirring.

Also does it technically constitute a language? That feels like a stretch too.
I’m scared. What… What else could it do than serve a png image?

I don’t know, personally I’ve never had one of those.

28·1 year agoI don’t mean to brag, but I have an astonishing lack of culture.
There aren’t many Jewish people here so by proxy I’ve never seen antisemitism in person. I’m not well-placed to talk at all.
That said, it’s hard not to wonder whether the term antisemitism isn’t being used abusively…

Sounds good!
