When Napster first popped up starting downloads before I went to bed so a song might be finished downloading before I woke up. Then burning as many songs as I could fit onto a CD.

They don’t care honestly. It doesn’t come up much in my conversations out here, but when it does it’s usually met with a shrug and then we talk about something else. People here are a lot more apolitical overall than I expected, but I think that is largely a result of living under governance that actually cares about them and invests in society. I think it’s like if things are running smoothly (and they definitely are), what do they have to concern themselves with?

For the revanced, I just keep going through the steps each time it doesn’t work. Uninstall revanced app, download main app, split into apk, re-patch, reinstall. I’ve had to do it about 3 times in the past month, but it always gets it back running again.

I just started playing MTG in real life about two months ago - solely commander (EDH). I got introduced to Tabletop Simulator and a dope module for MTG Commander, then I found a discord server that hosts games constantly. So I’m playing that this weekend.

I’m pretty sure you can get international ones like Airalo or Holafly that will work in China and also come without the need for a VPN, but if it’s not too much of an issue I would suggest just grabbing a China Telecom or China Mobile sim from the airport to use while you’re here.

I played Magic the Gathering with a small pod I found here in Chengdu. I’ve only been playing for about a month now, but I’m already getting a little obsessed.

I moved to a not-lapdog country. People still generally think America is great though (western media is insanely powerful).

I was in that mindset while living in America for almost my whole life, then I got out of America and am much happier for it. Not sure if you’re USian, but it might be worth looking into.

When I was in Seattle DSA the first response to this would have legitimately been - ‘but what about the working class Israelis? We have to build that coalition too’ - obsessed with class with no intersectionality whatsoever.

As an Okie, I am glad to have gotten about as far as possible from that state as one can get on the globe.
