With all those holocaust memorials in Germany, the country is doing the exact opposite of keeping a low profile. You‘re probably thinking of Belgium, USA, Canada, Russia, Japan or the Ottoman Empire. Like, there are so many countries that committed genocides and trying to sweep it under the rug but that‘s simply not true for Germany. And this is exactly why saving all data about every citizen, including bank transfers and patient records in a single data base is a risk not worth taking. It‘s a terrible idea and simply proposing it already shows you don‘t know anything about keeping data and the people attached to it safe. Everyone knew this would happen. Painful incompetence on so many levels. And so very avoidable if you just didn‘t save it all in one place, under the same user IDs. A surveillance state comes at a terrible cost no matter who the government is at the time. It‘s a bad system.
