    I didn’t know that not wanting to federate with a sociopathic megacorporation that has a terrible precedent with unethical behavior is just a matter of having different opinions.

      That’s because you’re biased, argue in bad faith, and want others to agree with your opinions as though they’re facts.

      I don’t want people like you deciding what I get to see. I’m sure you feel the same.

          Except it isn’t a “platform” in the same way as something like Facebook or Twitter or Reddit. It’s a “platform” in the sense of email, and in the very worst case Meta would control the fediverse through federating threads the same way Google controls email by starting GMail, which is to say not at all.

          The worst case would be an Eternal September scenario - but that’s going to happen if and when the fediverse becomes mainstream, regardless of how it happens.
