Pick an instance that doesn’t defederate then. Big part of why I picked SDF - to date they haven’t blocked any instances at all on either their Lemmy or Mastodon instances. And they’re a nonprofit that has been providing network services since the late 80s (they’re literally older than the web, even still run a gopher server and started out as an anime BBS).

No, but that was the whole marketing pitch for it. Now everyone is fine with censoring and rules as long as it aligns with their own beliefs.
