So its here - the long awaited XLite V3 and V3 Es.

If you dont like Long text watch the video version here(I would be so grateful)

After Using these two mice non stop for everything - from 4-5 Hour long Deathmatch and Aim Lab sessions, to menial office work, I have made my Review of the new Xlite V3 and Es.

Lets talk shape - the V3 Size 2, is definitely EC3 sized/Thorn Sized. I saw someone suggest that it was DAV3’s competition, but it definitely is something for the Larger Size 3 model, as this is healthily between the Zowie and the Lamzu in terms of how big it feels in the hand. Compared to the Lamzu Thorn, its got similar dimensions, but because of the smaller peak of the hump, slightly lower height, and deep finger grooves, the XLite V3 feels more slender than the Lamzu thorn with a slightly greater tilt, but a lil bigger than the Zowie EC3. The hump being less protrusive + the less puffy body vs the thorn means it fills out you palm and hand less, which depending on the person could be good or bad.

My rough approximation is that for hands shorter than about 18CM, its good for palm grip, 17-21~ for a claw grip, and 19+ CM for Fingertip gripping. Of course dont take this as the be all and end all, since different finger lengths might come into play here, but I think its a start.

As for the clicks, the overly stiff clicks on the X2H and X2V2 have been eliminated, now significantly lighter (Not as light as the thorn though) and the clicks have gained a very similar feel to the DAV3’s.

However, in making the clicks lighter, it seems like a little pre and post travel has been introduced, though its nothing major, and definitely worth it for the lighter, crisper, click feel. (I demonstrate this in my video review:)

Weirdly enough, the ES has ever so slightly lighter clicks than the normal V3, but I have no clue if its a QC thing or a design thing. Im guessing its the former, but the ES also does have less pre and post travel(Probably because of the greater stiffness). Weird.

Build quality is solid on both though, as is the thumb button - though theres a little wobble in the ES’s front thumb switch. Not a deal breaker but gotta point it out as a reviewer.

Okay, now lets talk bells and whistles. While both have a nordic MCU, and a 3395 Sensor and optical switches , the XLite V3 ES comes standard with the 20 USD 4K Hz dongle, no holes on the bottom, a Aluminium scroll wheel, and a DAMN SCREEN. Honestly, its quite impressive. Is it really useful? For the average gamer not allergic to software, probably not, but its cool AF, completely independent, and will probably be hacked to run DOOM at some point. Thats a cool gimmick, but the more important changes are the subjective changes to the feel. The coating is glossier and closer to being Zowie like, though not entirely there yet, and the Metal scroll wheel is big, cold and shiny. However, while its nice to the touch, its not quite as perfect in terms of the “scroll feel” as the normal XLite V3, since that uses a standard plastic/rubber wheel that is phenomenal - its notchy, crisp, and with a good weight thats easy to flick but also be precise. The metal wheel still feels nice to touch and I quite enjoy it, but I wish there was a little more resistance and “notch-iness” if you get what Im saying.

The Es is also 10grams heavier(Definitely a noticeable difference), and that is mostly because of the bigger battery. (Pulsar claims the filled in holes, and screen add little to the weight, and also supposedly doesnt hurt battery life at all btw). This means the ES has a claimed battery life of 70-100 Hours on 4K Hz. I cant quite verify this till my testing setup is finished and perfected, but so far its been 30+ Hours of use and I have about 50% left on 4K/1K(I alternate often just cos I like messing with the buttons and screen lol). Even if it doesnt hit the rating, its still pretty solid. The Normal Xlite V3 claims up 110 Hours on 1Khz, whatever that means, and its battery life has been solid, though I need further testing to see how it actually truly fairs.

As for the added weight, the balance of the ES is actually quite well maintained, since the extra battery load is at the rear of the mouse to balance things out.

So, should you buy the V3, the ES or the Lamzu Thorn? Well it boils down to 2 things.

1st most important is the shape. If you like the EC3 shape, the V3 or Es is a closer approximation. If you thought it was too sleek or narrow, or you prefer puffier rounder mice that fill out your palm more, the Thorn might be a little more suitable. Both are really comfortable shapes to be honest, its all subjective.

  1. if you do decide the V3’s shape is a better fit for you, then it comes down to whether you care for the ES Features of a screen, 4K HZ polling, Coating, Metal wheel, bigger battery, enough to justify 10$ and 10 Grams. Because if you do the math, the normal V3 is only 10$ less than the ES if you get the optional 4KHZ Dongle. If you dont care for 4K Hz etc, the Normal V3 at 99.99 is a great choice, but if you were going to get the dongle anyway, the 10$ Difference is pretty small and you get a whole load of cool features(If the wait wasnt a deal breaker).

And thats that - I like it! Now, I wanted to not gatekeep any information behind a video link, so more people can see it. I hope it helped, and I also do hope that you could support me by watching my video review too as well, I would really appreciate it.
