    I think it would be better to use the existing lemmy.ml community. You don’t need to be on lemmy.ml to access it from world. Also it would help reduce the number of communities crammed into world, which is already overloaded with communities and users.

      In my opinion, I don’t like the idea of hosting the sublemmy on the lemmy.ml instance because in the end, you’ll be under that instance’s rules, and I’ve heard not-so-great things about them. I don’t know why the instance owners would want to interfere with something like unixporn, but the idea that they could if they wanted to doesn’t sit right with me.

    Hello, this is my formal application for the position of moderator of the unixporn community on lemmy.world. I have lots of previous experiences with being inactive on reddit, so I should be perfect for the job! I also have a rust job, if that matters.

      He is, as far as I’m aware he is so alright and safe that he managed to have a life outside of his computer now… It’s so sad, I know. I also miss funny pacman ghost man

        Oh ok. I’m quite OOTL, did he delete his account before/indipendetly of the reddit API mess? Do you know anything about other “known guys” such as adi1090x and siduck? Btw I’m glad to see at least you in the “new” unixporn modteam

          Don’t know the details, javacafe is still in our discord server over at https://discord.gg/unixporn. I don’t know about the others either, but I guess we’ll see if they move over here or stay on reddit. Reddit isn’t dead yet either, and the reddit moderator team hasn’t abandoned it. Only time will tell how the future looks.
