Flags at Old Trafford are flying half-mast in tribute to our former defender.

Bit closer to home this one as when I had a season ticket at United back in the late 70’s, Gordon McQueen and Martin Buchan were the centre half pairing.

      As with most of your posts, I was unaware of that and had to research it.

      McQueen scored 3 times in the 1974/75 European Cup campaign but was suspended for the Final. Are you implying Leeds would have beaten Bayern with McQueen in the side ? Or his suspension was not justified ?

        Sorry, this was a snide reference to the final being, in all likelihood, influenced by the corrupt official.

        I’ve only ever seen a tape of the final, but given how they played, I can only imagine the suspension was justified.
