Maybe it’s a server issue with all the new traffic but is the way to not get logged out after such short periods of time/usage? Feels like any time I attempt to interact with something on kbin I have to relog in.
Also, as someone else provided feedback on, being able to hide threads in a comment feed would be super useful. If it exists now I haven’t figured.out how to do it
Just my initial feedback.
@ernest It would be handy to be able to block all magazines from an entire domain without having to check every single one as new ones are trending in the global feeds. In my case feddit.de - not because antagonism but because I don’t understand German. I’d imagine this be a future issue as more language dedicated servers emerge.
My homepage is about 60% German currently so I’d like this too. It’s a little frustrating and I can’t seem to find any options that help except for sticking to subscribed or local.
Maybe I don’t understand but my reputation points always say negative. I did the math myself, i have lots more updoots than dislikes. Am i not understanding reputation maybe?
its the same for everyone. upvotes dont increase reputation.
Is this by design or a known issue?
Has anyone else stopped receiving notifications? I haven’t gotten any notifications the past couple of days even though my notifications are all turned on.
Been having a problem recently (and intermittently) where when I upvote a comment it goes to a page that says Error and I have to go back to the previous thread, refresh it, and then the upvote works.
Yeah, I have also noted that. I will check it tomorrow, thanks.
Cheers, thanks for everything you guys do
Just came here from reddit, so I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this but anyway… Usernames when logging in are case sensitive. This should not be the case because
#1 it’s very confusing (I could not figure out why my password was constantly wrong even after resetting it, until i remembered some comment from someone on reddit about case sensitive login issues on some website and tried changing the first letter of my username to lowercase, then it finally worked). I haven’t seen any other website work like this.
#2 you’re basically allowing people to impersonate others if user account creation thinks usernames with different capitalization are unique names.Btw, there should be an “Add comment” or “Reply” button up top on the post. At first i thought the thread was locked since there wasn’t a reply button, but then i remembered some old forums put it at the bottom of the page, so i scrolled to the bottom, still no reply button. I had to scroll back up through like 4 screens worth of useless footer clutter before i finally found a comment area. This is going to decrease engagement and growth. (I’m on mobile btw). I even tapped on the + button on top to try to add a comment but there was no option. Same with the More button on the post (though it shouldn’t be hidden in a More menu since it’s a core feature).

The root path for kbin is currently always “all”. I actually have a PR up right now to change this to what people actually expect to happen.
Thanks for pointing it out.
No worries, thank you for taking care of it so quickly!
Is this thread monitored? Asking because, from what I observed, that federated Hexbear(dot)net users and communities don’t seem to be possible to block. Or should I use the contact form?
I’ve noticed this too. Is there any workaround? Some Hexbear users are egregious and clutter up posts with meaningless noise.

Since this appear to be the most proper thread, I’ll keep posting as I see issue. Hopefully a staff member will see the bug reports, then.
I’m on mobile, and hitting More on the comments section of my profile looks very different from when I hit More anywhere else.
The most important feature needed is comments sorting by TOP. The microblog page already has this. Why not post pages?
I don’t see this one in the issues list but, at least when sorting threads by newest, blocked domains still have content that shows up. I confirmed the domain is flagged as blocked in the UI at least. If I block the magazine, I don’t see it at all, but seeing hate speech is not my idea of a good time.
The boosts tab in my profile is filling with things I haven’t boosted. I know I’ve mistakenly tapped on some buttons on mobile, but even unboosting things doesn’t remove them. I tested with this thread by boosting and unboosting, and it’s now permanently in my boosts tab. Even a comment I accidentally reduced and unreduced is in that tab. I don’t understand why. I’m brand new to kbin so maybe I’m doing something wrong or unaware of something.
Same here; I change my mind about upvotes/downvotes all the time (especially since I have the terrible habit of voting while I’m still reading the comment), but the ones I’ve done that for are still there. Heck, the first couple I see when I look at my profile are ones I did that for. Read half the comment, upvoted out of the corner of my eye while I was still reading, read the second half, went “Hoo boy, nevermind,” and un-voted.
Related to that, upvotes/downvotes being public is a dealbreaker for me. I don’t feel safe upvoting or downvoting anything here unless it’s completely uncontroversial, because I don’t want to open myself up to harassment by people who disagree.
I’ll hang around for a bit to see if that changes, but I’m very unlikely to stick around if it doesn’t.
Oh that’s good. Thanks. Hopefully it’s fixed soon then.
Slightly annoying issue:
No reply notifications for comments.
I’m having this issue too
It was working for me last night, but now I’m not getting any notifications, either.
When I joined a couple days ago, it worked immediately when someone responded to me. Now, it’s either delayed by a couple hours or doesn’t work at all. It’s probably low on their priority list right now, but I hope it gets fixed eventually.
Searching on “active” magazines often indicates at the bottom of the webpage that there are several search webpage results.
Attempting to go to a subsequent page always yields the “first” page results.
