To be fair, people (on average) are a LOT worse at driving than a computer. I’d bet the percentage of humans driving into walls is much higher than self driving vehicles.
In many scenarios you’re right, but there are a good number of scenarios where computers are far worse drivers. Humans handle the visual noise from snow or rain far better right now, for instance. We also handle certain edge case scenarios better, like knowing to stop the car when someone is screaming because they’re being dragged.
