The style of shoe is based on the German army trainer, which was used by Adidas and Puma for some of their classic shoes. You can purchase high quality, hand-made shoes in this style from a company called Beckett Simonon. I personally own a pair and can say they’re comfortable and very much worth the price and wait.

I think the ones in the photo may be original German army issued shoes, which you may he able to find via a military surplus vendor. The ones I linked are thicker for sure and probably intended more for casual use instead of exercise. But I am confident that if you search “German army trainers”, you will find options in the same style.
