Just had to rush our diabetic cat to the vet hospital this afternoon.

We’ve been on top of his treatment but today he was being lethargic. He got up and was very wobbly, something was obviously wrong.

We have a home testing kit which I rushed out and it got a reading of 1.1 mmol/L which is way way too low.

Got the honey out and put some on my finger and rubbed on his tongue. Called Vet. Did honey 3 more times and then rushed to the vet.

Dunno why I’m writing this. I’m in the waiting room trying not to cry. It’s an emergency vet and everyone here is solemn or crying. So sad.

Update: Bambi is at home resting but is not out the woods yet. The low blood sugar is one thing but he had extreme vertigo and still has it. He hasn’t had much in the way of food or drink but he is hungry and will lick a wet treat (licky lick). His sugar levels were okay by the time we got to the vet, but now this neurological problem. He can’t move much but he responds to my voice and touch. Will be sleeping by him tonight.
