Being a good person who puts others over themselves sucks ass.
You gave your car, and now you don’t have a car anymore. What and why?
I got a new car. It’s just taking time for it to ship to the dealership.
Also, I’m on PTO right now so I don’t NEED a car ttill next month, really.
That doesn’t make you a good person; it makes you someone who doesn’t listen during the airline safety instructions.
I don’t get it.
Put the oxygen mask over yourself first before attempting to help others.
None of this is making sense.
They’re saying that you need to take care of yourself first, then help others. Giving your sister your car is a fine and noble thing if you have another car for yourself, or don’t need a car. You shouldn’t be actively making your life harder when you help other people out, though.
See, a hand me down implies you got a new car, and gave her your old one. If you take the clothing analogy, you don’t give a hand me down if it means you’re going to be naked.
