“With Trump, that’s just totally fallen apart,” Wilson said. “You have this extreme fiscal irresponsibility that is paired with wholesale destruction of core government functions, and I think that really opens up the space for the left to be the adult in the room and recapture some of that language and maturity in a way that can allow us to put together governing coalitions that can really be effective.”
