Carney is a duplicitous snake who regularly speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Basically right from the start. Remember during the election when he basically had people convinced he was going to start up a public home builder?
Turns out it we’re just taking our umpteenth crack at trickle down.
Or when he was going to support Pharmacare and Dentalcare but then never brought them up again.

I love how conservatives use their own failed ideas to paint their opponents (read: everybody) with the now-toxic terms they once rallied behind.
Carney isn’t the best option, not by far. His party was just the best of the feasible options; and by far. Politics and voting is like that, and the moment we let perfect be the enemy of good we’ll get Proudboy Milhouse or theTool or Harper or Sneer selling off Canada’s sovereign rights to China again.
Carney’s not “talking out of both sides of his mouth” but he is being a classic liberal. And it’d be good to remember that Trudeau was an Orange lib to win the orange seats where Carney is a red one. The best we can do is keep someone with his contacts in power but as a minority: the blues won’t cooperate with the enemy (read:everyone) so an ndp party (seen one?) would be in a good spot to actually get things for people.

No, it turns out the party that absolutely did not run on privatizing everything and limiting the right to strike but is doing those things anyways was not the “best feasible option”. He’s a dishonest liar who it turns out was a terrible option but now some people who got tricked into voting for that terrible option feel the need to justify that choice to themselves.

Trudeau was not an “orange lib”. He broke multiple strikes and never saw a P3 he didn’t like. Trudeau was Liberal to the bone. Carney is a Harper conservative (or perhaps a British conservative would be more apt) who really wanted to be PM and saw that in the current political climate his best chance to do that was via the Liberal party. Mostly by lying through his teeth about what he intended to do until he bribed his way to a majority.
Canadians elected Steven Harper on steroids to run the country in order to keep Pierre Pollievre out of office.
Carney is Harper with some allegiance to Canada and 50 more iq points. We also elected Carney to keep the Harpers and Milhouses from selling more of Canada’s rights to China or the US.
Poillievre was never more than Stevie’s attack dog which might be why it feels like we are living conservatism: six of one or half dozen of the other.
If any government, of any political stripe, announces something that is ostensibly good for it’s citizens and bad for the corporate class, there’s ALWAYS another shoe to drop eventually.
Politicians work for the corporate oligarchy. While some may be more blatantly corrupt about it than others, it’s still a universal truth.
