the phantom records were a bane of my library so if it works, it’s pog I won’t have to manually edit sql database

You can also use the jellyfin plugin Subfin to expose your music library so Subsonic compatible clients can consume it, expanding the list of clients you can use.
I tried official app as well as finamp - both have this problem. I aslo tried symfonium - it worked well but it turned out to be a paid app

Symfonium still let’s you buy a perpetual license without Google play which is always a good motivation for me to pay for it if possible.
you can use a patched version of symfonium, all it does is enable the free trial over and over again
