The lawsuit is part of a coordinated federal campaign to stamp out state laws that offer in-state tuition and other financial aid to undocumented students. Including last week’s suit, the Trump administration has sued 21 states over these policies.

To carry over a salient point from the previous post about this: the basis of the DOJ’s lawsuit is a federal law which prohibits offering in-state tuition rates to undocumented immigrants unless those rates are offered to all US citizens.
