Every time. I start my makeup for an event like 3 hours early because something alwats goes horrible and I just end up wiping everything off lol

but my makeup’s def like neither - i don’t like the US style where makeup is so thick it looks like you’re sick. i prefer just covering pimples and the like, but not freckles. keep it natural and cosy :3

That’s the approach I take generally as well! A little BB cream, mascara, and eyebrows. Finished with a little chapstick on my lips. Just enough to look a little polished haha

BB cream? What’s the abbreviation?
I think it’s beauty balm? Essentially a tinted moisturizer with some spf sun protection.
I have a friend who does perfect wing tips on her eyes every day and oh how I envy her.
me too, and i’ve seen this friend of mine stay up for 2 days straight, get absolutely obliterated, and her wing tips have not budged.

I don’t think I really know how to do makeup either but one thing I’ve learned is to kinda follow tutorials but also don’t be afraid to try other stuff.
Foundation seems to look flaky on me no matter what I do, and anyway I don’t wanna spend forever doing makeup so I decided I was gonna cover a couple broken capillaries on my face with concealer and then blend that out, which would have the side effect of kind of muting the natural rudiness of my face a little (but not completely getting rid of it either).
I ran into a problem though: the concealer often looked flaky, too. I tried everything, different brands, using less, using more, different primer, asking the best looking people at Ulta what they would recommend, changing up my skincare, etc. but I always was using liquid concealer because that’s all anyone ever uses it seems like.
Then one day my mom gave me a CoverGirl stick concealer, was way cheaper than anything I picked up at Ulta, and it was a fucking game changer. I think it’s a little more waxy and I need that to pat down the flakes? And also probably easier to use less. There are areas I still can’t use it (right around my nostrils will always look flaky) but whatever, it’s working for me!
I am by no means an expert, but I think it comes from the makeup drying out on dry skin. I get flakiness from powder and less from liquid makeup, I also use primer spray and setting spray. Too much makeup still flakes. I have a mix of normal and oily skin that gets dried out from acne products (I can’t be on estrogen b/c anymore and the progesterone b/c makes my skin suck). I started mixing my color corrector, concealer and foundation on like a plastic palette and got better results than layering them. You could also try different application tools (beauty blender vs brushes). Of course if the Cover Girl works then it works!
I have never had my makeup done professionally and not felt like a clown! But it does end up photographing decently.
