great app.
every so often… its healthy to stop apps that you aren’t using and dont plan to use soon.
saves you phone battery.
it worked well on android 10, now it’s just looping on the first app info
+ now android itself has background battery usage limitationsi think i know what you mean.
im glad to discuss it:
it seems like a flaw. but i really think its a feature!
i like having the menu for each app and personally decide wether to kill the app (and clear cache).
regarding android battery controls…
if u go to developer menu from settings and find standby apps, then find the app you want to sleep… you can do that.
but for example… Voyager lemmy app: if i put it in restricted, then everytime i change windows… the app needs to re-load. its functional(but dysfunctional).
so… i like it better now that i just give it permission to run, then when i know that im done with it, i can choose to kill it until next time (plus manage other heavyweight apps).
i have it set to prompt/kill my 5 bigggest apps only. that’s all i need. the app doesnt work if you have 100 apps. that would take too long. there are other solutions for other goals.(ADB until google makes it unusable.)you can, now, choose to disable all “background usage” from
Settings > Apps > * App info > App battery usagethat’s what i did for Voyager. If it’s not on screen in the foreground, it’s not ‘working’.
At first i missed superFreeze and tried all the alternatives too, but then i read some about the updated battery permissions (there’s also no bloatware on LineageOS). i ended up uninstalling superFreeze.
With my first Android with all the bloat designed to “phone home” all the time, superFreeze was essential (as well as Netguard and ADB)i see what your saying.
i think it would be most ideal to test it.
it may be lower resource to force kill.
estimates vary… but i average, as low as: 20x , 4x lower. (those are unverified approximations. and i really think it depends on the app)
for cache clearing… i can see lemmy(voyager) is using 34mb(some apps like firefox use alot more)… clearing puts it down to zero.this app can live in my RAM all day https://f-droid.org/packages/org.billthefarmer.editor
related/relevant(for readers):https://f-droid.org/packages/com.aistra.hail via shizuku via ADB .
warning: unwise use of adb can brick your system and you would have to wipe your whole phone
