I will be leaving next month.
I see TSA-approved locks.
I don’t want to alert trigger-happy guards or whatever.
I will delete all my third-party apps too.
I will also probably just reboot my tablet completely.
Same with my laptop.
Probably my phone too.
Saving my passwords somewhere else too.
I have some other ways to be private that I won’t reveal openly unless you want to DM, idk
But honestly, with this new cyclospora going around, I just want to survive the next three or four weeks.
What do you suggest?
I’m too paranoid on principle to move any device that hasn’t had some BleachBit shit done to it over a border. Could you get a sub-100USD phone suitable for the radio bands in the area you’re departing for? If you want to keep access to your phone number you could port it into Cheogram, allowing you to access it on phone wifi/laptop/etc instead of with a SIM. It’s not even an international call that way because they’re contacting (by default) a US Canada gateway.
I like privacy stuff but I don’t actually trust the foundation it’s built on. Hardware manufacturing is a [𝚁𝙴𝙳𝙰𝙲𝚃𝙴𝙳].
Best to use privacy measures off the Internet and the hardware itself, imho
Never heard of Cheogram.
Thanks for the tips.
Trans Rescue might have helpful information for you, when I was looking at their work back in 2023 they were starting to work on information for getting out of the USA
Thanks.
I may also need this to help someone currently in Modesto trying to escape abusive parents.
You can DM me about it but I will likely make a thread about it soon anyway.
