I don’t think that if China becomes the pre-eminent world power, it will spread cultural influence as aggressively as the USA has done. China tends to have a hands-off philosophy with barbarian cultures. And Chinese people understand that “our culture is for China” whereas USAns by default think “our culture is the only one”
But that’s just my working hypothesis, and definitely the cultural exports will grow somewhat, like we’re seeing in this story, but might never become as big as somewhere like Japan’s.
