kittenzrulz123 has created another community in case anyone currently subscribed to libertyhub would like to follow her.

She created and did this without communicating with anyone else in libertyhub. Libertyhub is still here, and still a fairly quiet sub.

I banned her from libertyhub, but her post will not be deleted. So feel free to follow the link.

Libertyhub is anarchistic, therefore anti-authoritarian and anti-tankie. See the wiki site on tankies for explanation but tldr: tankies support sending tanks against civies to keep control.

    PLEASE do not brigade or harass u/KittenzRulz123 over anything that happened here.

    If anyone feels the need to go elsewhere and complain do so respectfully and while following the rules of the community and instance where you’re posting, or just don’t and go touch grass instead.

    While we’re here, we can discuss the current state of this community a bit if anyone’s interested. I think Cassa hit the nail on the head in the post body, but if anyone wonders what content is welcome here or what the sub is about, I’m happy to field questions.

    Kittenz is not wrong that this community has been slow and bordering on completely inactive for at least a year now. LinkOpensChest.wav has posted the majority of the content here since the beginning, and he’s been innactive on Lemmy for a while now. He may never come back, but that doesn’t mean this community has to remain a graveyard.

    Personally, almost all of my social internet browsing is done on Lemmy, with this account. That means basically all of the content I find that might be worthy of posting here would be cross posted from other communities that blahaj.zone federates with. I’ve felt for a while that this meant I didn’t have much high quality content to post here, but maybe the sub deserves some content rather than none, and maybe this community can fill a niche not currently filled by other leftist/anarchist communities.

    I do follow a handful of blogs/substacks that post content fitting of LibertyHub, but memes have tended to perform better here so I haven’t posted much of them either.

    I’m open to input about what content would be appreciated by the folks here.

      It was a bit surprising, but I think it speaks volumes about how safe kittenz felt here before.

      While it did unfortunately change, it could still be quite the safe space for leftism without authoritarianism. Rule 2 should cover that

        As an idea, perhaps the banner/icon for the community should be altered to replace the hammer and sickle flag with something more solidly Anarchist (like perhaps the CNT or IWW flag?) to further distance itself from authoritarian symbolism.

        I’m semi-proficient with Krita, so I could take a crack at modifying it to something else chosen by the mods or community, if you’d like (and no worries if you ultimately decided not to go with it) :)

          I wouldn’t be against it. Iirc, kittenz changed the banner and logo to their current version maybe a year or two ago after link left the first time. It used to be a crossed out sealion, because we were dealing with sealioning libs so frequently back then lol. I don’t remember what it was before the sealion.

                I should mention though that when I say I’m proficient at Krita, I use it more as a photoshop alternative, not so much as a painter/artist. I’ll work on a couple edits of your existing logo and try my hand at a more original one too and send em to ya in a DM.

      Tankies don’t do anything but read theory all day, so taking over communities is the only way they feel connected to the history of imperialism in the name of civilizing the noble savages improving the material conditions.

      Why go actually do work when you can take over anarchist spaces? It’s what they did in Ukraine. Probably why they don’t like modern day Ukraine too. The idea of people doing things without being ordered because it’s right is foreign to them.
