“Proposes” a check?
Sheesh, the FAA really let itself go since last time I worked in aero QA some 15 years ago. Hasn’t it learned a thing or two since the MCAS debacle? Or has everybody forgotten how the FAA completely dropped the ball on that one already?
Considering that the FAA just cleared Boeing to self certify again… No. No lessons have been learned, and the FAA is willing to let hundreds more people die to keep Boeing from facing the reckoning that they so rightfully deserve.
The FAA has not yet issued a final Airworthiness Directive on the seat installation issue. Publication as an NPRM begins the public consultation process, allowing airlines, Boeing, and other stakeholders to submit their comments before the FAA determines whether to issue a legally enforceable AD.
