This article is basically about right-wingers getting angry about The Odyssey while the film has done very well at the box office.
Maybe some right-wing people just like getting angry when there’s really not much reason to get angry.
Guys making the movie that way gets attention. Then the entire media apparatus generates profit off the outrage and it builds hype for the movie. Literally everyone involved in this bullshit made money.
They are angry and loud and that gets attention.
It could just be that people enjoy good storytelling, regardless of the “wokeness” … or the absence of it.
Another movie that did quite well was The Backrooms and if it had “wokeness” either in its casting or in its storytelling, I didn’t really notice. The lead was a black male, but it didn’t feel contrived or shoved in to tick off some casting requirement from Hollywood, so…shrug.
