    It’s not necessary to complete the puzzle but it helped to understand that, if there’s two cells in a series that only have the same two possible values, those two can be eliminated from other cells in the same series. Nice shortcut.

      indeed, is true for all matching pairs, like in sudoku. Then the choice becomes: do I waste time taking notes or can I remember the pairs sufficiently quickly.

        I do wonder how much the more advanced sudoku matching apply to one-up, e.g. X-wings or rectangles. I’m not too well-versed in those on the Sudoku side. Perhaps anyone here has some insight?
