Any network or streaming service is fine. I’m having trouble finding anything good to watch, much less binge. I’m currently enjoying Sugar on AppleTV, and House of the Dragon on HBO, but they are both weekly releases. I tried The Brothers Sun and Little House on the Prairie on Netflix, and they are a bunch of garbage. (I’m sure I’ll get lots of suggestions I’ve seen, but I don’t see a way around that.)

Widow’s Bay on AppleTV is very good.

Widow’s bay is one of those odd shows where all the episodes were great, maybe because it pairs drama with comedy and horror so well, but like with “A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms”, the short format heightened the content.

Blue Lights The Agency
I didn’t have high expectations for Blue Lights, but it’s been really good. I don’t normally get affected by character deaths,

I can’t suffer propaganda cop shows: is Blue Lights a “yay cops!” thing or more akin to Happy Valley? If so I might watch it (and love it!).
Haha I get it, I don’t like propaganda cop shows either. But after watching Blue Lights I definitely wouldn’t want to be a cop in Belfast. It feels pretty real and raw. It kind of has a gloomy setting like Happy Valley, but it isn’t as cliffhangy. And it’s an ensemble cast. I only get put off by the title screen because that does give off propaganda cop show vibes

Right now I’m watching Widow’s Bay, which is good. And I’m watching Yes, minister. Its a British political comedy set in the eighties, but its strangely relevant. And funny if you like British humor.

I would pair “Yes, Minister” with “The thick of it”. I’ve seen your recommend stuff that I like with some stuff that I haven’t seen (Detectorists, Rooster, This is going to hurt, Tip Toe)… Can’t wait to watch it.
”The thick of it” seems good! I’ll add that to my watchlist. I also looked through your list and I def forgot a lot like Fleabag, Blackadder, Fallout, arrested development. But also a couple that I haven’t seen! Going to check it all out
Futureman is criminally underrated.
I just finished both seasons of Afterparty on Apple TV, it was really good and very bingeable
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is also really good
I liked more the 1st season, with a better rounded mystery (albeit a bit obvious after a couple of episodes) and great cast. The second one, I mostly liked the heightened thematic format, but for me, the underlying story was a bit flat sadly. (My favorite episodes were the Pride and Prejudice parody and the Wes Anderson one: How I wish the entire show was like that!).
I think there was one episode that had some strong Wong Kar-Wai-esque Hong Kong late 90s movie influences, but it was in a shy, not going all the “Wai” in, which it was detrimental to the final result (IMO).
Season 2 definitely felt a little more contrived for sure. It was still a fun watch though!
Travelers (was on Netflix): time travelers from the future are transported into bodies of people who are about to die in the current time, and these travelers are trying to prevent a catastrophe. Great characters, and interesting play on time travel. The only thing to note is that first 3 episodes are kind of confusing because that is the order the network wanted it, not the writers.
Reservation Dogs: teenagers on a Native American reservation, some trying to get out, some trying their best. Pretty sad, pretty funny, very strange at times.
Peep show: first-person-camera-and-thoughts British comedy show. Not for everyone, but ridiculous as hell.
Devs: Tech company has an elite and secretive team working on… (without spoilers, very sci-fi tech)
1670 is pretty obscure.
A polish comedy, that I just cant get enough of. Im rewatching season one and two right now (for like the 8th time) because season three is about to drop the first week of August.
HBO has a lot of old films. I watched “Catherine the Great” (1934) earlier this week, and I actually really like it. We can watch movies made nearly 100 years ago, and I just find it so interesting, but I didnt expect to like a film so much.
The other HBO show in the GoT cluster, with Sir Duncan is pretty good too. I liked it a lot.
And, if youve never seen The Seven Samurai, you should.
I loved A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Maybe even more than the books. I’m due for a rewatch of Seven Samurai. If you like obscure old movies, see if you can find Peter Weir’s The Last Wave (1977)

- Party Down - Comedy about catering group
- Atlanta - Dramedy written and starring Donald Glover
- Black Adder - Comedy where each season is a different era of British history
- Corner Gas or Letterkenney - Canadian comedies about life in rural Canada. Corner Gas is a more standard sitcom, but Letterkenney is pretty unique and has some good writing (just give it at least a season, second episode is hit or miss)
- Eureka - SciFi dramedy that has some good arcs.
- Freaks and Geeks - Coming of age dramedy staring some heavy hitter before they got big (James Franco, Jason Segel, Linda Cardelini)
- Leverage - Crime procedural where the criminals are the good guys
- Miracle Workers - Comedy that completely changes settings every season
- Cougartown - Comedy by creator of scrubs
Sorry if it’s a little comedy heavy, but that’s where I have a bit broader/uniquely suggestions.
If you are okay with animated shows (anime and western) I have more suggestions.
Erueka can very well be paired with Fringe (I know it is uneven, but it is lovable still.)
