i thought this was interesting; i’m also quite aware of the fact that wcw was airing an incredible sting/flair match while wwf was… checks notes making it all about vince mcmahon to gloat while verbally abusing a woman.
it’s also notable that this is the exact event that caused me to check out of wrestling after an entire decade of being in love with it and i wouldn’t fall back in love with it until aew came along.

man I remember watching this live in high school. constantly switching between WWE and WCW on my remote. it was wild. we had no idea it had happened until tuning into RAW that night. I remember watching Nitro more that night than RAW because all RAW showed was Vince gloating about buying WCW. I can remember EVERY single match on Nitro that night but can’t remember a single match on RAW.
The next morning at school was wild. me and my best friend were hyped because we were die hard WWE fans. We had another friend that we called “Sting” because he only watched WCW. he was incredibly bummed out.
This was it for me too, until I got into 2010 era RoH. I could easily get the DVDs locally.
