    the requirement is just crazy. someone has surgery and likely loses their job and thus their medicaid and thus can’t get drugs and physical therapy and all the after stuff.

    Exempting “caregivers” outright is a very tricky thing to do unfortunately, as it opens it up to massive amounts of fraud.

      Even in your regressive fever dream that you’ve invoked with no evidence, the wealthiest country in the world can afford to give healthcare to all of its citizens and simply chooses not to in order to sate the corporate middlemen who bribe its officials to do so; “fraud” would just be more people having access to the services everyone in every developed nation except the US already has access to.
