    A commission-based sales job wants to proceed with me, but they’re letting me take my time a bit here… I will need to get licensed before I start, but I’m interested in doing so. I see this as a potential way out. Unfortunately, I will have to post on mutual aid again to help with the fees for this licensing, but I’ll do that when it’s closer to about a week from now (as that’s when I told the hiring manager when I’d get back to her about proceeding). I am also exploring a few other avenues, as a friend of mine might be able to help me with the licensing as well. If not, I’ll probably post about that on Sunday. I really really wanna get this done. I feel more luck about this than I did with the CNA training because this one would be straight up intangible knowledge… no actual hands-on or physical activities required to pass this test. We’ll see. I am really feeling exhausted through all of this.

      This happens a lot with US Latinos. They often give white americans the impression that all latinos are hyper conservative, religious, and machista

      Ironically US Latinos actually tend to lean further right on average than people living in Latin America… a lot of this stems from a desire to earn a white adjacent status and be seen as “one of the good ones”

    The absolute ghoul of this temp agency totally lied to me about the location of the job.

    My agent told me that it would be in my city in the initial text… it’s not. It’s actually in a totally different county and amounts to a 3 hour bus ride a day. Are you fucking serious? I can’t actually work that.

    Every fucking time I get closer some shit happens… but, hey, I put little faith in this anyway. It was a temp position and based on reviews I’m reading, this place is not secure for long-term work. It would’ve been nice to work for the short term, but since it’s a full-time schedule, it gets in the way of time I can put into interviews and whatnot.

    Maybe it’s a bullet dodged, I don’t know.

    I’m so pissed knowing that I literally was so close to having a job but got rejected over something as ridiculous as my computer being overwhelmed while playing four 1080p videos at once in a video call with 10 other people. I suspect that’s really not something to get in the way of a customer service agent job, but what the fuck do I know?

    Today, I literally applied to over 50 jobs… many of them remote.

    I deliberately set out to do this, but I typically do not count how many applications I do. In the past, I’ve applied to around 25 jobs without trying on some days. Doing these 50 job applications took me the whole day because, when I apply to jobs, I use a lot of discernment. I took time to read each job posting thoroughly, ensure that the job will genuinely be a good fit, ensure that I meet its eligiblity requirements, and also verify postings to make sure they’re not scams. Despite it being a Saturday, one job already called me for an interview, so at least there’s that.

      Seems like weird stress test for a customer service job. The only reason I could think they’d even test something like that would be for web meetings, but how many times would they be holding video calls under those conditions? I’ve had my computer chug while on large video calls, but we only have large scale meetings like that once a week.

    The absurdity of liberals thinking its good or funny that “Pride world cup” is happening at the match between Iran and Egypt…

    Beyond the fact that FIFA is a genocidal organization that is fully complicit in the extermination of Palestinians in Gaza, one has to ask an important question:

    What does this accomplish?

    Besides being a clear antagonism against Iranian team which has already been harrassed, delayed, and deprived of long term visas.

    It is basically just a yankee “in your face” moment that reinforces the beliefs of regular people who equivocate LGBT with US imperialism. This kind of crap only makes everything worse. I’m sure this belicose “world cup pride” parade will only result in more hostility.

    These liberals don’t give a damn about queer Muslims or Arabs or Iranians. Same logic of “liberating oppressed women” with cruise missiles.

      I think much of the racism against Indian and Asians could be a combination of jealousy of perceived success, and bleed over from general othering.

      Broke white guy goes to convivence store which is owned by Asians, the restaurant owned by Asians, and every one of his doctors is one of the two. Wonders why do they get it and not him.

      The ignorant fool then proceeds to never consider the sacrifices made for that success. The missed hours with children, family and friends. The 20 hour work days and the skipping of going to things like convivence stores or restaurants, and of more essential things like going to the doctor.

      They stare at success and wonder why not them, without ever doing any of the work required for it. But that’s just my opinion, and its just broke guy racism. Rich guy racism is like a whole other weird gross thing that cant be explained by ignorance, only by the fact that they’re generally pure evil and think they’re gods above all. ::shudders::
