China has reported its passenger car exports jumped 73% in May to around 809,000 vehicles. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Wednesday that exports of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids more than doubled in May from a year earlier to about 435,000 units.

    It’s great news except for those of us in little countries like New Zealand where the power grid can’t cope with too many EV cars, and the public infrastructure barely exists. Having an EV is unrealistic for those who don’t rent or own an entire house (really need the option to charge an EV in the driveway)

    Push bikes and e-scooters though, heck yeah. That is the true way. I hope for more sales of those.

      I wonder if we’ll start seeing people just ordering in solar panels from China on their own initiative. That’s basically what happened in Pakistan.
