It’s the lie and delusion of meritocracy. As if people who are rich deserve to be there by merit and equally the people who are poor also deserve to be there because they are inferior. Thus, to help the poor is to give free handouts to the “undeserving lazy good-for-nothings”.
100%. I can’t fucking stand how many billionaires, like Warren Buffet for example, have some “bootstrap” story where they “came from nothing”. Almost all of them are complete bullshit.
What else could they use to terrify the populace into over working themselves?
Tax wealth. Villas, mansions and estates should be socially owned and used for the benefit of all.
