He has to do this bullshit because Iran holds all the cards, the only way to end the war and get the straight open involves reigning in Israel and allowing Iran continued access to fissile materials, and neither his supporters nor handlers will abide that, this will happen until the physical realities of the oil shock become impossible to ignore.
