I’m not going to advocate for crypto, more out of ignorance, but maybe it’s possible to make a coin that’s worth 0 USD but can be exchanged like USD.
Everyone is talking about boycotting services that work with government agencies they don’t like, such as cop city or ICE, but the ultimate control the government has is USD. The dollar has effectively “blended into the wallpaper of society” and people don’t realize that they can cut it out of their lives, in a theoretical sense. It’s hard to get a round the convenience of USD since so many markets that it gives you Access to and without USD you can’t even buy coffee at gas station.
The reason to boycott USD is that it would decouple government control over your life. If government printed money and inflated the currency and you had none then you’re immune from devaluing. If you didn’t use USD for but something else (currency or other forms of battering) then it would make other people give up their USD. Also the government does use USD to empower corporations via loans, bailouts, and subsidized (whatever the federal reserve comes up with) to essentially give them a lot of buying power so they can suck up GPUs, ram, and land.
To wrap it up. Using USD gives legitimacy to the federal government and everything they do. Selling your labor for USD means that the government can buy your labor for USD
Another reason is that USD is deeply intertwined with fossil fuel production and trade.
99.9 % of the cryptocurrency space is bullshit but in the remainder there are some viable alternatives to state issued currencies. Unfortunately difficult to discuss due to the prevalence of bullshit, and easy to criticise to make yourself look smart & moral while defending the status quo.

Hard to imagine how would that work, I guess if you can use it to purchase, you can use it to exchange w/ USD. And then you get the business types who tend to ruin everything. Maybe very small local currencies could kinda work that way? Chaumian e-cash mints, like GNU Taler & others.
Yeah I know crypto has flaws like pump and dump schemes also there’s things like company scripts that were good awful form of currency. Those are examples of what to overcome for developing currencies. I’d argue bartering would be core to USD boycott, but I’ve refused plenty of trades.
0 USD crypto coin would be hard because once it’s starts circulating then it gains value and then the value would be comparable to the value of USD, but I was thinking of that crypto that’s worth 1 USD per coin and making it worth 0 USD (that’s how we take down intergalactic civilizations, Morty)

Right you’d need to make plan for having to achieve it as time goes on you increase the resolution and level of detail for the plan that way you need fewer people to advance towards that goal at any given point
