In 10 days, the US has spent $10B so the Gulf States can lose $15B. I love a well thought out plan.
The outlook is not looking good. Betting everything on US protection was a mistake. The people that will be hurt by this will be the most downtrodden and dependent on government welfare and services, one of the few good things about the GCC states.
It’s going to be interesting to see if these proxies can even survive now. They all have one dimensional economies built around energy exports, and if this war goes on for any period of time they’re going to start crashing. And I’m sure being allied with US and Israel against Iran isn’t exactly playing well with their public either.
I was really hoping that the China brokered peace with Iran was a sign of things to come. I don’t know if it is shortsightedness or fear, but they should have distanced themselves from the US. Even if they try and drum up sectarianism against Iran no one wants to die fighting for the US and Israel.
It’s probably a combination of both. They are effectively under US occupation, and they also figured that they were too valuable for the US not to protect them. Now they’re realizing that they’re expendable, and that Americans can’t save them, but it’s too late.
Someone should start a website that tallies just the cost of American shit blown up in the war and show how many universal healthcares or ended homelessnesses we could have afforded to do
there is this https://iran-cost-ticker.com/

thank you based trump for doing your best to end the oil age
Couldn’t he have done that by investing in renewables rather than killing thousands and ruining the lives of millions?
you can’t really hoard the sun and build your empire off of access to it. not until nuclear winter.
No
“lost” as if they were somehow principally entitled to it
I mean, they were expecting that money on the basis of incredibly consistent trends. That is a type of loss, especially in global economics
Yes, who else would be entitled?
