What does this have to do with google?

Buying (fake) ram from V Color doesn’t intrinsically mean you support google.

the big social media companies are buying up ram with all the money they get from ads and defense contracts. one would think it would be in the interest of gamers to avoid such a situation.

I mean they already have the power, buying some ram, real or fake, isn’t going to affect that in any way. It’s not like you’re buying it from Google

gamers are the treatlerite lot, they couldn’t even bear the thought of avoiding steam bullshit, same with discord, same with streaming, now they are milked each day of the week, from hardware, software, online playing, ownership. each successive convenience choice led them to this - monopoly of nvidia who don’t give a shit about gpu revenue anymore, ram and ssd prices being blown up by companies they get their treats from, their kids getting gambling addictions from lootboxes

I really doubt the nvidia monopoly was preventable, the gamer who bought every nvidia bullshit graphic card is like 1%, either you bought a nvidia graphic card or you bought a weaker graphic card that would never work properly or you didn’t bought it and gave up with your hobby.

All the others was a convenience that people didn’t think one second in the future, the nvidia one was practically impossible to escape.

eh, in the rx280-580 the choice was not very obvious, and dlss was shit until 3.0-4.0, i legit dunno what people saw. Now the most powerful hoggers, for them the choice was always obvious, and during 1080ti it was mega obvious what to choose. raytracing is still meh-meh tech, works in like 5 games to make them prettier

The hardware shortage isn’t a result of gamers being complicit in enshittification like it sounds like you’re trying to say, it’s just capitalism doing its thing to that sector, like it is in many others.

most of google’s money comes from ads that everyone already blocks, giving black people away to the gestapo, and blowing up brown people; the upper bound of slacktivism was when stadia failed, i don’t expect gamers to suddenly firebomb AI data centres

I’m old enough to remember RDRAM that -required- a blank stick in single-stick systems to terminate the signal.
