    It must just be a coincidence… but… Quite mysteriously, my HiSense TV never shows any ads. Ever. Not really sure why. I use a mini-PC (with a fewTb of hard drive and internet connectivity) to serve all my media to the TV. The TV has never been connected to the web directly.

        Not owning a smart TV almost equals not owning a TV, unless you already own a rather old one (like I luckily do).
        Never connecting a TV to the internet is a solution for the smart TV problem; at least for now.

    I really think this could be solved with a trebuchet. The first time a Hisense 55" comes barreling through one of their exec’s windows, with ‘Fuck your Ads’ spray painted on it, they’ll get the message.
