      But did you stop and consider what the government needs? Access to verified online identities so that they can more easily track what you do.

    It is, in fact, not parents against the big tech companies, it’s parents against their kids. If you want to protect children the starting point is restricting parents. Period. A child shows signs of media addiction? Send in your country’s child protection agency to investigate, if it comes to it take that kid to a better home. Oh but that’s a real solution that requires real planning and thought, no way that can go through.
