So I downloaded Futo Voice Input: this thing is the best piece of software I’ve tried in a very long time. It work fabulously well, it works offline, it’s open-source, it gives Google the finger… What’s not to love eh?
So I went to pay for it - because frankly, $10 for all that is cheap. But lo, I have to pay through… Google Play.

This is a piece of software specifically designed to help me escape the Google surveillance collective and the only way you found to get a reward for your efforts is to ask me to open a Google account to pay you?

Actually this only applies to the APK downloaded from the Play Store. The standalone APK downloaded directly from Futo.org from the link above has another payment option (Stripe). Sadly, it doesn’t work for me :/
I’m really having trouble giving those good people some of my hard-earned…
Neat that they included two different payment options in the different APKs, unexpected attention to detail on their part despite the stripe option not working.
Play store purchases don’t even work for me since it’s disabled on my device lol. Hopefully it their stripe donate option fixed soon 👌
