David Thomas Barnes, 65, a native of Gadsden and a former resident of Huntsville who moved to the Houston, Texas area, is currently being held inside Moscow Detention Center No. 5 after he was arrested.
Yea, shitty as Russia is, I’m hesitant to say anything because I know nothing about the case against him and it wouldn’t be the first time court sided with the wrong parent.
I know an older guy who married a very beautiful and much younger Russian woman, had kids with her, and much the same thing happened to him. Except, instead of fleeing the country, she divorced him and fleeced him for alimony and child support as soon as she got her Canadian citizenship. He was incredibly naive, but perhaps should have known better, or should have thought harder about the nature of their relationship before marrying her.
