Unfortunately, our previous image database host has decided not to help us restore the missing images. This means that most emojis are also broken, so if anyone has local backups (e.g. in your browser cache), we’d appreciate if you could post them here. For those who want to restore their missing profile pictures or banners, try checking your profile on another instance (e.g. lemmy.ml/u/username.ml), since they store local copies of these images. You may need to edit the image slightly before uploading it because of a de-duplication issue that will treat the new image as the old, broken one if they have the same data (presumably determined by checksums)
