“The US army would be so low moral!” “The US would erupt into a civil war” “They would find it so hard to fight against people that look and sound like them!”

Yea because Americans Brits Frenchmen and Soviets weren’t opposing sides in the world’s biggest war last century. Like Europe wasn’t centuries of constant wars between Anglos and Germanics and Norsemen. Like East Asia wasn’t constant wars and colonization between people that all originated from the China area

Not to mention Canada’s military is like 90% white while America’s is like 30% black and hispanic, definitely looks way more different than lots of wars in recent history tbh

Without giving credence to colonizers’ fears about being on the receiving end of colonial violence, the thought that the US would be demoralized fighting Canadians is so out of touch. The US military bros think Canadians are woke transgender socialists in need of US-style liberation.

Not to mention they frequently engage in violence on the local populace around military installations as it is. Hell, they poisoned an entire Canadian military base with Agents Orange, Purple, and White and didn’t bat an eye. (https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/corporate/reports-publications/agent-orange.html)

If the US military was demoralized by fighting people “like them,” they wouldn’t be known for the violence they inflict on their neighbours, their families, and their fellow military members.

Fun fact: Canada has never fought a war for itself. Every single one was for others.
It’s so fun watching these “patriotism is stoopid, Muikuntz have no teeth” types suddenly become rabid hypernationalists.
They do not react well to this being pointed out especially when you go into their history and quote their own posts at them.

Don’t think too much about it. Canada is already an American state in all but name anyway. Not only is Canada still deeply intertwined with American foreign policy (cbc even put out a piece saying Canadian military members helped plan the Iran strikes) the US is still by far our largest export partner. Despite the circus around the tariffs.

It’s just liberals fantasizing about being the victim again.
