I have some old worlds on Wii U edition that i’d like to be able to play again in more modern game versions. Is there a way to convert these to Java edition worlds without using any Windows-specific programs, since i use Linux (Debian)?
I already have Aroma set up on the console, and i’m trying to get the worlds with Saviine now.
This might not be a very helpful response, but have you tried getting any Windows software that accomplishes this task running on Linux via WINE?
It’s worth saying for the handful of people who don’t know about Wine.
I haven’t messed with my Wii U in months so i’ve mostly just focused on trying to back up my worlds to my computer in any form. I do plan to try MCC Tool Chest with Wine, but i also thought i’d ask if people know of any solution that works better or easier on Linux.
It still surprises me that there’s apparently so little overlap between people who prefer Linux over Windows and people who hack their consoles.
I’d offer to look into this for a native Linux program, but I don’t have a Wii U, so debugging would be a chore.
I think that’s the result of gamers only more recently adopting Linux. I specifically didn’t switch to Linux in 2012 because I couldn’t play the PC video games I wanted to play.
