Social media team doing their job. Making them likable to the masses. Usually not the same people who do the bad stuff. Not excusing the bad stuff. But social is usually run by underpaid interns who are just having some fun. They might wear the uniform and think they represent the brand, but the brand doesn’t care about them very much.

Coke doesn’t need a social media tram add long as they own stakes in Disney and other theme parks, fast food, and movie theaters.

Sadly some of them buy into the work they’re doing and think they’re making a change from within. I’d like to think they grow out of it, but looking at how many boomers support the status quo I think many never do.

It might be an interconnected system that supports itself, but the downside of that interconnection is that if it’s ever going to come crashing down it’ll come crashing down together. Too big to fail is a double edged sword. In the meantime pirates movies and drink water.

        and drink water

I’m actually physically unable to drink carbonated beverages (including Coca-Cola) due to bariatric surgery. My beverages of choice are coffee and water.

Coke does make Powerade (sports drink) and Dasani (water) that I can drink, but I don’t use those brands. Not because I dislike the Coca-Cola company (I do), but because I don’t care for their product. Powerade is just a crappy Gatorade, and paying a couple bucks for a half litre of tap water is fucking stupid.

CokeNational Socialists doesn’t need a social media tram add long as they own stakes in Volkswagen and other automobile manufactures, food, and clothing labels.

If we wouldn’t excuse it for this, why do we excuse it for your example?

Because a soft drink company isn’t the same thing as the Nazi party, for one

Both have murdered people. Why should all expectations of moralistic behavior go out the window? Seems like there’s always someone excusing literally anything and everything.

I don’t really care if they’re just interns when their job is to launder the reputation of a murderous immoral multinational corporation. If they had done PR for Nazis that would have made them Nazis.

i blame the masters not the interns though. money is money in this economy, and their job is ignorable enough compared to some motherfuckers out there.

do heckle these accounts tho if you want. fuck brands and their precious little reputation, or the desire to keep intruding in our fucking lives to sell us garbage.

I was thinking that, but it’d be pretty funny if their PR was responsible for hitmen and death squads or something as a way to appease shareholders.

Don’t let the intern pay for hitmen though, they have no idea what they’re doing.

I’d be willing to bet money it wasn’t even on purpose and they just used it that way because it’s completely normal English usage that’s been that way for decades. Just like I used it in that previous sentence.

They aren’t happy someone noticed. They’re happy someone pointed out something that can take credit for.

That’s not a singular they. The Coca Cola corporation, and the subset involved in writing shooting editing and approving any ad they make, is many people.

IMO because it is (a corporation) in the singular, but it does (by the work of its employees) in the plural.

Maybe that makes no sense. IDK. 😅
