My country has 8 parties in parliament. This poll is quite embarrassing, USA.
FPTP will do that.
I’ve been told by blue maga that its a unrealistic purity test to be able to vote how I want.
In fptp, there’s only ever going to be 2 parties who can win. If a 3rd one even shows up, it weakens the one it’s closer aligned with, guaranteeing a victory for the party it’s farther away from politically.
Normal politics can never exist with this system unfortunately.

Most people are pissed with the red and blue party, unlike what idiots keep saying a third party can win any time.

I’d also note that I’m registered D mainly in opposition to Rs (and also because my state only allows voting in primaries within the party you’re registered to), but my politics are definitely more progressive - if & when they get big enough to form their own party, I’m SO there.
GenX unite. All my life, I was told that I would get more conservative as I got older, and not only is the opposite happening to me, it’s happening to the people I know, too.
