Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requests support from the Department of War (DoW) to provide existing infrastructure to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a component of DHS, specifically an area for parking approximately 300-500 vehicles and 10 storage trailers, a ready room space for approximal 500-800 CBP personnel, a space to house, maintain and operate five CBP Air Assets, access to a magazine to store munitions, and other necessary facilities to support operations in the Minneapolis, Minnesota metropolitan area,” the email said,
The approval strongly suggests that any withdrawal without prosecution of ICE and Border Patrol is temporary, and that they are planning on a return in greater numbers.
This post uses a gift link which requires some people to register. Not including an archive.is paywall bypass because Hearst’s lawyers dont like it when people cut and paste their article URLs into that site.
This is the stuff that gets lost under the “Bovino is out of the city, so it’s all fine now” bullshit.
I fucking doubt Hegseth can read.
The question is, will these laws be seen as mere suggestions and largely ignored until after the fact?
“it’s better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission”
The US seems to be pretty lawless right now for those in power. It’s scary.
The Posse Comitatus Act is a law. However all laws are the agreements that form the architecture of the state.

Trump has already broken Comitatus once, however what’s happening in the California courts can absolutely give the National Guard the ability to refuse legal orders as it’s currently being legislated. https://nlgmltf.org/military-law/2025/faq-on-refusing-illegal-orders/
The US is scary right now. Talk to your neighbors, build community and if that’s not possible where you are let me know. I’m happy to try to point you in the direction of those you can organize with. Our only safety is in numbers, our greatest weapon is solidarity.
Thank you so much for the info. My neighbor’s speak Spanish so unfortunately I don’t have much of a relationship to them, but I want to help any way I realistically can.
you can donate to a few groups.

Maybe you can teach your neighbors english and they can teach you spanish?
This is great advice, thank you again! I will closely be looking further into these links you sent me when I get back home. I was thinking about using a translate app as a way to communicate. Perhaps a real-time translation app? I am not sure yet. I feel horrible that my neighborhood is at risk. We had someone come through in a truck with a loudspeaker saying things in spanish. It is getting concerning. Not even just the ICE stuff, everything else too.
Glad to have people like you to keep the community safe. Thanks once again.
I just help with resources. People like you that are worried about their neighbors are keeping communities safe. Don’t let the bastards get you down.
